Configuring the program for electronic transmission

If you want certain information for T2 EFILE, Alberta Net File and/or CO-17 EFILE to apply to all the client files you are processing, complete the sections concerning the default settings in the preparer profile for T2 EFILE, Alberta Net File and CO-17 EFILE.

To enter the information supplied by the CRA with respect to your identification with one of the electronic services, proceed as follows:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
2. Under Electronic Services, click Identification.
3. To use the CRA's Corporation Internet Filing service, click Federal, then enter the information provided by the CRA.
   To use Clic Revenu's electronic services for Québec corporate returns, click Québec – Clic Revenu, then enter the information provided by RQ.
   To use the NetFile Québec service for Québec corporate returns, click Québec – NetFile Québec, then enter the information provided by RQ.
4. Click OK.

You can define some settings for the database and transmission files. For example, you can select message display when the database and transmission files location is not available, as well as define a different location from the one set during installation.

How to define the database location

To modify the transmission database location, proceed as follows:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
2. Under Electronic Services, click General.
3. In the Location area, click to select the location.
4. Click OK twice.

Note: By default, Corporate Taxprep uses a UNC path to define the network location of the transmission database. If, when installing, you indicated a UNC path and thereafter you have to modify the location by a location using a mapped drive, we recommend that you change the format before you proceed with the modification of the database location.

How to display a message to indicate that the database is not available

To display a message at startup to indicate that the database and transmission files location is not available, proceed as follows:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
2. Under Electronic Services, click General.
3. In the Location area, select the Prompt when the database is not available check box.
4. Click OK.

To change one or more Internet addresses used during transmission eligible documents, proceed as follows:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
2. Under Electronic Services, click Internet Addresses.
3. Click the Internet address that you want to change, then in the Address box, enter the new address that was provided to you. The symbol will be displayed in the upper right corner of the field to indicate that the address was changed.
4. Click OK.
